League Matches 2012

After a break in 2011, we resumed participation in the League Matches this season. We shoot Short Metric rounds for these - 3 dozen each at 50 and 30 metres on 80cm face.

The 2012 Summer Season proved to be rather good for the Green Dragons, improving at every match. And weren't we lucky with the weather!! Thank you to everyone who took part whether shooting, supporting, or helping with the catering. Roll on next season.

We will be participating in the League Matches again in 2013. First match likely to be Sunday 26th May - other dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

27th May - AWAY to Hinxworth.

Win for Hinxworth but it was closer than previous matches

17th June - HOME to Stortford Bowmen.

Win for Stortford but getting closer!

15th July - AWAY to Ellswood Bowmen.

Win for Ellswood but this
one was really close - just 68 points separating the teams.

12th August - HOME to Howard Bowmen

DRUM ROLL ... WIN for Green Dragon Bowmen!!

Fantastic turn
out by both clubs for a great afternoon's shooting followed by a wonderful tea.

30th September - HOME to Hemel Hempstead Archers ... And another DRUM ROLL ... WIN for Green Dragon Bowmen!!

Unfortunately Hemel Hempstead Archers could only send 4 members for their team, but we'd have beaten them anyway. Well done everyone!

Please be reminded that you MUST carry your Green Dragon membership card and display it on your quiver and display your car badge at all times when you visit the shooting field. Knebworth Estates staff will now check these regularly. Also remember that access for archery members is limited to the huts, the shooting field, and the toilets. We do not have open access to the park itself.

Green Dragon Bowmen is a member of ontarget, Archery GB’s Club Development Programme. Clubs joining ontarget are making a public pledge to be open and friendly, to advance archery and to proactively work with Archery GB and in return clubs will be recognised, rewarded and given support, guidance and advice to develop and improve.
